Prof. Dr. Özkan Herek

He was born in Denizli in 1966. He completed his primary education at Denizli Gazi Elementary School, middle school at Denizli Pamukkale Middle School, and high school at Denizli High School. He began attending Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1983 and graduated with a fourth-place finish on June 11, 1989. He was accepted into the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Ege University Faculty of Medicine in the September 1989 Medical Specialization Exam and began working as a Research Assistant in October 1989. He completed his residency in 1995 and received the title of Pediatric Surgery Specialist.

He completed his military service as a reserve officer at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy between June 1995 and October 1996.

He started working as a lecturer in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine in June 1997, and was appointed Assistant Professor in 1998, Associate Professor in 2005, and Professor in 2011. He has been working as a Professor since 2011.

He is married and has three children.
