Which Diseases Does Eye Health and Diseases Treat?
Cataract: Cataract is the deterioration and loss of transparency of the lens of the eye. This prevents light and image from reaching the retinal layer and the person experiences vision loss. Cataracts are usually seen in middle-aged and older people due to advanced age. With phacoemulsification surgery, the person regains his/her health in a very short time.
Diabetic retinopathy: Diabetic retinopathy can be seen in people with diabetes as a complication of diabetes. Diabetic retinopathy is damage to the blood vessels in the retina. At first, there is no loss of vision, but as time passes, weakness in vision is felt. Therefore, diabetics should go for regular eye check-ups.
Glaucoma: Glaucoma, also known as eye pressure or black water disease, is defined as an increase in intraocular pressure that damages the optic nerves. If early diagnosis and treatment is not applied, permanent vision loss may occur. It is usually seen in people aged 40 and over. Since the disease progresses without symptoms, people should have regular eye examinations.
Strabismus: It is the deterioration of the parallelism between the eyes. The treatment method differs from person to person depending on the age of the patient and the condition of the disease. Treatment methods for strabismus have a higher success rate in childhood. Therefore, early diagnosis is also very important in this disease.
Tear duct obstruction: It is the inability of tears to reach the nasal cavity through the tear duct. The most common symptoms are excessive watering of the eyes, frequent burrs and swelling at the root of the nose.

Eyelid aesthetics (Blepharoplasty): Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid aesthetics, is applied to the upper and lower eyelids. It is defined as the removal of sagging skin. By removing the sagging skin and stretching the tissues around the eye, both aesthetic appearance is achieved and visual capacity is increased.
Refractive surgery: Refractive surgery, also known as laser eye surgery, is the permanent correction of visual defects caused by improper refraction of light such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism with a surgical operation. Individuals over 18 years of age, with appropriate corneal thickness and eye numbers can undergo this procedure.
